Considering Moving to Spain?

A life in Spain is appealing to many people from around the world. The fabulous climate allows you to make the most of beach and mountain life, a slower pace where a siesta is encouraged in the afternoon, as well as lots of celebration through fiestas and processions throughout the year. Spain can give you a wonderful retirement, a welcoming place to bring up children, and dream daily lifestyle. In my own case it certainly has not disappointed!

Of course for those within the European Union it is much easier to make a move, but there are visa options that allow other nationals to enter. A Google search will give you answers to your initial questions and you can employ a lawyer to help you get things moving. Consider your budget, and what you are looking for from a region, and whether you are looking for a full or part time move, need to work or are able to fill your days with outdoor activities and relaxation!

Moraira and the surrounding coastline and villages (Cumbre del Sol, El Portet, Benissa costa, or the villages of Benitachell and Teulada are the closest) has a wonderful draw to overseas visitors. Expect a cosmopolitan feel, boutique shops and stylish restaurants, chiringuitos (beach bars) with live music in summer, watersports and people used to helping out while you are getting to grips with the language. There is a strong community feel and lots to do if you like to stay active. Why not take to cycling, hiking, tennis or padel, pilates or yoga, sea swims, paddle boarding, windsurfing or boating. There are even some free classes on the beaches in summer for anyone keen to keep moving and join in.

Can you see yourself creating a life here?

Take a peek at the properties we have for sale to see if anything appeals to you, or let us know if we can help you with a search of the area to find your perfect home.

Do you want a private pool, a community with some shared facilities, or prefer something you can easily lock up and leave? Is it a priority to be close to the sea, living in the centre of a village, or in a rural hideaway?

Watkins Wilson can offer a friendly, knowledgeable and multi-lingual service to help you on your way to a successful move to the Costa Blanca and the start of something new.
